The Encova Insurance Central Ohio High School Sports Awards is a recognition of the achievements of the area's best athletes, coaches and teams. This awards ceremony features a red carpet experience, in-person presentation, and on-stage Q&A with a celebrity athlete. The ceremony will announce the winners on June 15.


OHSAA

The OHSAA, which regulates high-school sports in Ohio, is the organization responsible. It has six districts that host sectional and/or district tournaments. The organization is comprised of seven administrative staff and twelve full-time secretarial/clerical personnel. The terms of six-year terms are given to board members. Each class elects two board members. The organization has several part time employees.

The Ohio High School Athletic Association will be working with schools and creating guidelines to allow interscholastic football to resume in September. Bob Goldring was the interim director of OHSAA and said that he hopes that the document will be available by August 1. Additionally, he told members that the organization is preparing for a series of fall postseason tournaments, including basketball, football, baseball, and wrestling. While the Ohio High School Athletic Association is yet to announce the venue for the state football championships, Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium has been the host of the competition for the past three years.

Ohio High School Athletic Association announces new divisions in the fall/winter sports season. The board of director approved the divisions and fall sports will begin to be announced in September. The new divisions are calculated using data from the Ohio Department of Education. Competitive balance numbers will only be used for basketball. These numbers are calculated based upon average enrollments and not each school's.
